‘Phyto Lab’ is a research laboratory located within the Botanical Gardens of Città Studi in Milan, dedicated to the production of biomaterials. Its biomimetic design emulates the form of a leaf, enabling the building to blend with its natural surroundings.

The structure features a timber grid shell covered with ETFE, allowing natural light to flood its open-plan spaces.

Considering its location, the design thoughtfully integrates existing trees, fostering a biophilic atmosphere that enhances the environment for its users.
