Asphlo is an urban regeneration project that uses sport as a catalyst for community connection. Set within the existing Inland Revenue Centre by Hopkins Architects, the project addresses social fragmentation by creating a dynamic gathering space at the intersection of work and residential life. At its core, an elevated platform weaves organically through the site, echoing the fluid curves of the skatepark below. This layered design fosters interaction, with integrated seating areas offering vantage points for spectators and passersby. By bridging more deprived areas with the broader community, Asphlo transforms the urban fabric into a space of movement, connection, and shared experience.
